Castlevania The Psycho
The comic book adaptations continue. Universal has announced that it plans to move forward with an adaptation of The Psycho, a story about a drug that makes us all a little bit crazy.

Psycho Gets Chris Morgan

According to Variety, Universal has picked up Chris Morgan to adapt the comicbook The Psycho. Chris Morgan was a given choice, considering he recently penned Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift for the movie studio.

The Psycho takes place on an alternate timeline where the US focused on creating a super-serum rather than developing the bombs that ultimately helped end WWII. Our superpowered soldiers killed Hitler in 1941 and proliferated ever since then. Known as F.C.O.s (Freelance Costumed Operatives), these "Psychos" now keep the country strong by dealing with enemies. Jake Riley is an unvercover intelligence agent assigned to collect data on these superbeings, but his cover is blown and his only chance of survival is to undergo the dangerous XDL treatment, which can result in painful death as easily as giving superhuman abilities. Jake survives the process and uses his newfound powers to uncover a conspiracy that goes (as they're known to do) "all the way to the top". -CBM

David Engel is producing The Psycho for Circle Of Confusion, with partners Lawrence Mattis and Jason Lust exec producing.

U production veep Jeff Kirschenbaum oversees the project.

Morgan has had several rewrite assignments and received credit on Cellular, but his big break was the scripting assignment for the third installment of Fast and Furious. Japan-set sequel, a near-complete break from the first two films, is set for release June 16.

Circle of Confusion has several other projects in development at U, including Jinx, Outcast, Magic Kingdom for Sale and an untitled sci-fi pic from Brett Matthews and Simon Kinberg.

Stay tuned for updates.
