Upon arriving to the movie theatre this weekend for the blockbuster hit Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, I had figured every trailer I could expect to come my way before the movie would start. However, I was extremely surprised to see the teaser trailer for
M. Night Shyamalan's next film-- Lady in the Water.
Lady in the Water Trailer
The teaser trailer for Lady in the Water follows the
M. Night Shyamalan
fashion, meaning there isn't much shown and only a few words spoken. The trailer is more about enjoying the secrets that Shyamalan has hidden this time around and the accompanying music.
Probably the biggest difference you will notice for Lady in the Water is that Shyamalan has decided to keep Bruce Willis and Mel Gibson out of the picture with new replacement
Paul Giamatti. What can we say,
M. Night Shyamalan definitely knows how to draw in a cast.
In Lady in the Water, a story originally conceived by Shyamalan for his children, a modest building manager named Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti) rescues a mysterious young woman (Bryce Dallas Howard) from danger and discovers she is actually a narf, a character from a bedtime story who is trying to make the treacherous journey from our world back to hers. Cleveland and his fellow tenants start to realize that they are also characters in this bedtime story. As Cleveland falls deeper and deeper in love with the woman, he works together with the tenants to protect his new fragile friend from the deadly creatures that reside in this fable and are determined to prevent her from returning home.
