For all of you who love horror films and just can't help getting behind the scenes of the films that are 'based on true events,' then this latest update sent over by The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films may be right up your alley.

In an attempt to give you a little bit more inside information on Wolf Creek, the studios suggest that you head an over to an Aussie site and read up on some of the true events that the film is based on. No matter what, this site definitely makes the land down under seem like one shady place.

Wolf Creek Info, Bios and More

Over at killeroutback.com.au, you can learn about various aspects of Wolf Creek including the four 'big killers' whose actions play some role in the film. For example, lets take a look at Ivan Milat, aka Back Pack Killer, aka The Wolf Creek Killer, who is not the guy you'd want to meet out in the open.

Bio
Australia’s Backpack Killings caused massive speculation all over the world and were much of the basis for the film Wolf Creek that documented Ivan Robert Milat’s grisly actions in the outback. Despite a number of claims that multiple killers were involved in the slayings, Milat alone was found guilty of killing 7 people between the years 1989 and 1992. He was captured when two British hitchhikers who’d escaped his clutches, positively ID’d him as the perp. Milat was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for the multiple homicides.

Motivation
At his trial, Milat trotted out the usual array of excuses–dysfunctional family, innocence, failures with women of various kinds—even tried to finger his own brother. Now here was a man who was obviously not right in the head. For some gents, this leads to living in your parents’ basement, for others it’s the road to murdering and mutilating at least seven people-thrill of the kill if you will.

Tools Methods
Ivan Milat was nothing, if not thorough—heavily into elaborate torture, he’d attacked brutally, thoroughly, and often. Never having enough of a good thing—Milat would stab, shoot, assault, mutilate, bludgeon, torture and decapitate his victims, in no particular order, mind you. He was also known for strange primitive elements in his work-not the least of which were crude stone fireplaces at the body sites, with his victims tucked nearby under canopies of sticks and ferns. His tendency to hoard finally finds him out–that and the DNA they use to link him to various horrors and atrocities. Police uncovered a raft of “trophies” at his house–sleeping bags, cameras, camping gear and holiday photos and more. So much for holiday hike through Oz.

Kind of freaking you out? Well, check out all of the profiles and further movie media over at killeroutback.com.au.

Wolf Creek comes to theatres on December 25th.
