With all the blockbuster films coming our way this December and January one smaller film that should definitely not be overlooked is the Broadway adaptation of The Producers. The trailers look faithful, the cast looks great (NY cast one the battle with even better additions) and these latest clips seem funny enough.
The Producers Clips
The good people over at Yahoo! Movies have recently posted five of the first movie clips for The Producers. Each of the clips is pretty funny and feature that Broadway silliness. However, the best two clips feature newcomers (to the play) Will Ferrell and Uma Thurman. Will Ferrell is the Nazi who wrote the expected-to-bomb play 'Springtime for Hitler' and forces Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane to do some sort of Nazi-dance before handing the license of the play over to them.
Uma Thurman plays the Swedish secretary that gets more than enough of the producers' attention. She sings songs that arouse both the characters and will attempt to entice Broderick's nerdy CPA character.
Since I am a huge fan of the LA version of The Producers, I am curious to see what I missed out on in New York.
Two-time Tony Award winners Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick return to their celebrated roles as Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, a scheming theatrical producer and his mousy CPA who hit upon the perfect plan to embezzle a fortune: raise far more money than you need to produce a sure-fire Broadway flop and then (since no one will expect anything back), Max and Leo can pocket the difference.
