Miami Vice
I guess with the release of the most highly anticipated movie of the year (*cough* King Kong) we should have expected that each studio would be gathering up their best trailers to release this week. We already knew we could expect the teaser trailer for X-Men 3 and Mission: Impossible 3, but Miami Vice?
Teaser Movie Trailer for Miami Vice
My first question is why Bicardi? I like to think of myself a frequent bar visitor and the rum producing company has never popped up in my top ten choices while selecting a drink. How about Jager? Nothing speaks cool louder than a Jager and redbull or even a 7-and-7. But I guess Michael Mann or Universal Pictures is geeked on Bicardi as they have let the alcohol company's official site host the first trailer for Miami Vice.
The teaser trailer for Miami Vice looks damn cool, sort of a mix between Collateral (Michael Mann) and Bad Boys II (Michael Bay). If you had told me that a trailer of this calibur would feature a track from Linkin Park I would of had some early doubts. However, the music seems to fit the look of the trailer well and will do at least up until a full trailer is released.
The cocaine cowboys of the ’80s are gone, but Miami’s Casablanca allure, the undercover cops and the attitudes of Michael Mann’s culturally influential television series have been enhanced by time in the feature film version of Miami Vice.
Ricardo Tubbs (Academy Award® winner Jamie Foxx of Ray, Jarhead) is urbane and dead smart. He lives with Bronx-born intel analyst Trudy, played by British actress Naomie Harris (28 Days Later, upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean II and III), as they work undercover transporting drug loads into South Florida to identify a group responsible for three murders.
Sonny Crockett (Colin Farrell of S.W.A.T., The New World) [to the untrained eye, his presentation may seem unorthodox, but procedurally he is sound] is charismatic and flirtatious until—while undercover working with the supplier of the South Florida group—he gets romantically entangled with Isabella, the Chinese-Cuban wife of an arms and drugs trafficker. Isabella is played by the Chinese actress Gong Li (Raise the Red Lantern, Memoirs of a Geisha).
