Munich
Universal Pictures has recently released the first featurette for the upcoming Spielberg film Munich which features a nice set of shots from the film and interviews from cast and crew.
Munich Featurette
After watching this latest featurette for Munich I have to admit that I am a bit worried about the outlook of the film. I have already received a couple of emails that definitely push a more negative buzz and the interview with Spielberg in the featurette is a bit disheartening. Instead of talking about what a great film he has created Spielberg instead defends his point of view and why he made the film the way he did; the director already acts like he is on the defensive.
Still, I dig Eric Bana and Daniel Craig and would have to figure that these two guys joined up should be able to deliver one impressive film (I hope).
Munich is an historical thriller set in
the aftermath of the 1972 massacre of 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich
Olympics. Universal Pictures will release the film in the United States
and Canada on December 23, 2005; DreamWorks Pictures will handle international
marketing and distribution. Munich recounts the dramatic story
of the secret Israeli squad assigned to track down and assassinate 11 Palestinians
believed to have planned the 1972 Munich massacre -- and the personal toll
this mission of revenge takes on the team and the man who led it. Eric Bana
(Troy) stars as the Mossad agent charged with leading the band
of specialists brought together for this operation.
