British actor Jude Law has been hired as the lead in writer/director/producer Nancy Meyer’s new romantic comedy “Holiday.” The film is being shot for Columbia Pictures and boasts such other talent as Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, and funnyman Jack Black.

The story follows a recently broken-hearted woman (Diaz) vacationing in London who befriends a British resident (Winslet) who is courted by Black’s character. Law pops in as Diaz’s hunky British love interest.
Meyer’s, famous for her smart comedies a la “Something’s Gotta Give” and “What Women Want,” usually pulls in major stars. “Holiday” is shaping up to be no exception.
The film is set to begin shooting early next year with sets in Los Angeles and London.
