Apocalypto
With a couple previews of Apocalypto appearing on various television networks, Touchstone Pictures was only hinting that a finished teaser trailer was on the way. Fortunately, the trailer came sooner than expected (we thought end of the week) and has already convinced us that the tribe featured in King Kong has got some other freaky relatives; hot damn does this civilization got some issues!
Apocalypto Teaser Trailer
From Academy Award® winning filmmaker Mel Gibson (The Passion of The Christ, Braveheart), comes Apocalypto: a heart stopping mythic action-adventure set against the turbulent end times of the once great Mayan civilization. When his idyllic existence is brutally disrupted by a violent invading force, a man is taken on a perilous journey to a world ruled by fear and oppression where a harrowing end awaits him. Through a twist of fate and spurred by the power of his love for his woman and his family he will make a desperate break to return home and to ultimately save his way of life.
A wash cloth would be money right now.
A solid looking shot of the civilization.
Apocalypto Teaser
The trailer for Apocalypto looks pretty clean and is shown without even the slightest trace of dialogue; probably a good indication of the film. The teaser trailer works more to show off the sets and CG used to create the setting in which the film takes place. If that isn't enough for you, the second half of the trailer features a guy running from others tribes people... or was it a panther?
Hard to say. Check out the trailer for Apocalypto by clicking on any of the screenshots above.
