Chan's last big out in Rush Hour 2
Films such as Rush Hour and Wedding Crashers have added further weight to the fact that buddy comedies have a high probability of becoming box office gold. However, when I heard that we could soon be watching a buddy comedy starring Jackie Chan and Danny DeVito I could only scratch my head.
Chan and DeVito Together in 90 Mins
Finding a formula to work between Chan and DeVito has got to be more than tricky, especially since these two gentlemen couldn't be more different. Sure, Chan worked with Owen Wilson but we are talking about DeVito here.
Even with my doubts, Clint over at MovieHole has recently alerted us that Chan and DeVito are ready to get together as early as February.
Mini-powerhouses Jackie Chan and Danny DeVito - one of those guys can get his leg up higher than the other - are in talks to team up for "90 Mins", a new action comedy from Indian filmmaker Iqbal Rizvi.
The "Bend it Like Beckham"-esque film tells of two school football teams striving to win some major loot for their schools. It's believed that the filmmakers hope to have it in cinemas in time for the World Cup in July.
The film, the first teaming for Chan and DeVito, is earmarked for a Feb start in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Genting Highlands.
Chan is currently filming Benny Chan's "Baby", about a thief that gets in over-his-head in the gambling world. He's also attached to a film that will team him with fellow martial-artist Jet Li.
DeVito is currently filming a role in Jake Paltrow's "The Good Room" with Gwyneth Paltrow and Martin Freeman, and is attached to star in Brian Hecker's "Bart Got a Room".
Filming to begin February with release scheduled in July? Talk about a tight schedule! Read the entire report on 90 Mins over at MovieHole.
