Woody Allen
It looks like Woody Allen had a little too much fun overseas while filming his pic Match Point. While on a trip to Barcelona last week to play with the New Orleans Jazz Band, Woody Allen decided he was ready to create another international film. However, this time he would go a bit deeper than the U.K. (where Match Point was filmed) and into Spain.
Woody Allen to Spain
According to Variety, Woody Allen is ready to begin shooting his next pic in Spain. The film will feature Spanish and international actors, but will be strictly in English. Allen has made the deal with the production house Mediapro, with production set to begin in 2007.
So what is the story behind the film? Nobody knows, as the untitled project has yet to be written.
Obviously, Woody Allen is stoked to remain out of country:
I'm delighted at being able to work with Mediapro and make a film in Spain, a country which has become so special to me.
It also turns out that in 2002 Allen won Spain's Prince of Asturias Arts Prize, and the northern town of Oviedo has erected a life-size statue of him. Talk about returning the love.
