IMDB Says Venom

Venom Venom's profile.
Though we are still sticking by the claim that Topher Grace is currently beefing up for the role of Venom and James Franco will turn into Hobgoblin (when he should actually turn into 2nd Green Goblin) for Spider-Man 3, Columbia Pictures continues to, pardon the expression, f@ck with us. With only one real confirmation announcement with Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), when are we going to hear anything on the next villain?

Spider-Man 3 Want Venom

One reason we believe that Columbia Pictures has been holding off on an official Venom announcement is due to the issues with the costume. When Thomas Haden Church was announced for Sandman we immediately had a preview image of what the actor looked like in character.

However, the outfit for Venom (if Grace is in fact Venom) is much more difficult and previous reports indicated that the first go at the Venom suit sucked giant King Kong balls. So, is that what we are currently waiting on? Is Columbia Pictures waiting to have a suitable look before moving forward with an announcement?

Who knows, but IMDB has already put their bid on the matter and have listed Topher Grace as the role of Venom (thanks to the head's up from 'Bryan').

Is IMDB right? Well, I definitely wouldn't start betting your friends just yet. Remember, this was the same movie database that thought Uwe Boll was to direct the upcoming adaptation of Halo (was later corrected). However, all fingers still do point to Venom; which mama likes.

Spider-Man 3 comes to theatres on May 4th, 2007.
