Flight 93
When I first heard that we had a couple of films coming our way that takes us through certain storylines to the tragic events that occurred on September 11th, 2001, I had my doubts. First off, isn't a bit too early to make a film on the events that still seem so recent. Because of this I can see the box office numbers on the upcoming Greengrass film Flight 93 going either way. People are either going to enter the theatre hoping to learn the exact details on what happened on United Airlines Flight 93 or they are going to avoid the theatres in order to not be reminded of such recent horrific events.
Flight 93 Movie Trailer
That being said, Universal has decided to kick off their marketing campaign with, no, not a poster, no, not a couple movie stills, but a teaser trailer. Sure, the teaser does not show any shots from the actual film, but it does allow you to get emotionally involved with bits of dialogue.
The trailer also features the tagline '40 Ordinary People Sat Down as Strangers And Stood Up As One.' Wasn't this the tagline for ABC's LOST? Sorry, bad joke.
Anywho, judging by the dialogue, it does look like Greengrass is taking the best approach to help drive people to the theatres while also showing patriotism, pride and the willingness to strive on. Maybe the director sees the American public as a group that can easily forget and this film serves as only one reminder of the travesties inflicted upon US soil.

Flight 93
Acclaimed filmmaker Paul Greengrass (Bloody Sunday, The Bourne Supremacy) writes and directs an unflinching drama that tells the story of the passengers and crew, their families on the ground and the flight controllers who watched in dawning horror as United Airlines Flight 93 became the fourth hijacked plane on the day of the worst terrorist attacks on American soil: September 11, 2001.
Flight 93 recreates the doomed trip in actual time, from takeoff to hijacking to the realization by those onboard that their plane was part of a coordinated attack unfolding on the ground beneath them. The film attempts to understand the abject fear and courageous decisions of those who-over the course of just 90 minutes-transformed from a random assembly of disconnected strangers into bonded allies who confronted an unthinkable situation.
