Metal Gear Solid
It seems Hollywood is slowly turning away from the comic book film adaption scene. This is by far, not the end of comic adapted movies, but the beginning of the next big thing in the film industry-- Video Game adaptations. Marc Ecko (Atari’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure creator) was quoted as saying "The trick here is to wrap our heads around the fact that games are more like novels than films, and in this case, a graphic novel" That’s all well and good, however the Video-Game-films have had a very rocky start compared to its comic book predecessors.
Three Stooges Talk
According to Bloody Disgusting director Uwe Boll (Bloodrayne) is in talks to adapt yet another video-game Metal Gear Solid to the silver-screen.
Boll told Bloody Disgusting that “They wrote a script, and Konami basically paid these people to write it”.
He’s enthusiasm for the film came after seeing how well Doom did last year, but he says he “could do it a lot better…its one of the top five of all time”.
The basic plot of the game is of a black-ops troupe that are sent to a remote island off the coast of Alaska to shut-down a giant bipedal tank with a rail gun capable of hitting targets anywhere in the world with a nuclear warhead.
Stay tuned for updates.
