Though we originally expected a different actress to co-star with Jim Carrey in the upcoming thriller The Number 23 it is Virginia Madsen who has landed the role.
Not that we are complaining, we just expected somebody... different.
The Number 23 Gets Madsen
According to Variety, New Line has picked up Virginia Madsen to star opposite Jim Carrey in thriller The Number 23 for director Joel Schumacher. Madsen replaced Elisabeth Shue due to scheduling conflicts.
Jim Carrey, on the other hand, has been on board since the beginning. We have been stoked ever since Carrey landed the role in 23 and are interested to again see the comedic actor try something different than, well, comedy. However, don't think we doubt his abilities in the slightest. Carrey has already proved his acting worth in the drama Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as the ex-boyfriend in distress Joel Barish.
Carrey will portray a man who becomes obsessed with a book that seems to be about his life but ends with a murder, with the number 23 woven through the plot.
Most have recently seen Virginia Madsen in the film that renewed the wine market, Sideways. You can also see Madsen opposite Harrison Ford in the upcoming thriller Firewall.
