Our good buddy Eric Giordmaina recently reported in that the Bond girl may have been found. Though we have yet to hear of any official reports on the casting of the role, we can't deny that we are stoked on the prospects.

Rose Bryne for Bond

The lovely – and might I add Australian - Rose Byrne (Troy, Wicker Park) is set to share the screen with Daniel Craig in the upcoming Bond flick, Casino Royale.

A spokesperson for the spunky brunette says “It’s fairly certain” we will see Byrne in the role of Vespa Lynd in the new 007 film. Rumored favourite Naomi Watts, turned down the role early last week, which left the producers in a desperate situation. To their delight, Byrne’s audition for the part went extremely well, apparently testing better than Rachel Stirling, Vera Farmiga and Natasha Henstridge, who were all on the short list not too long ago.

Mi6.co.uk are under the impression Rose Byrne will be officially announced soon.

Rose Bryne played Briseis, the niece of Priam, in Troy. If you are having a hard time remembering her character she was the girl taken captive by Achilles who later lost her virginity; Ok, I wouldn't actually say 'lost'. If Bryne could look smoking hot while looking beaten up I can't wait to see how she looks done all up for Bond.

Stay tuned for updates.
