When we first heard about the upcoming film The Prestige and the film's story of battling magicians we couldn't help become a little interested. After hearing that Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, Memento) wrote the story and was signed up to direct our interest began to escalate. Then, just when things couldn't seem any better, we were told that the film was going to star Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale and our interest began to switch to obsession.

The website JustJared recently got their hands on the first images of Hugh Jackman all dressed up on the set of The Prestige.
Based on Christopher Priest's 1996 novel, Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman will play rival magicians in turn-of-the-century London who battle each other for trade secrets. The rivalry is so intense that it turns them into murderers. The title refers to the residue left after a magician's successful trick.
According to the site, the budget for the film was set at $40 million and will feature an extended cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, David Bowie, Piper Perabo and Michael Caine.
