Annapolis Movie Poster James Franco in Annapolis
Though James Franco has become known by moviegoers as young Harry Osborn in the Spider-Man films, the actor does have a spread of films being released for 2006.

One such film is Annapolis, the story of a courageous young sailor, Jake (Franco), who discovers that some opportunities in life are worth fighting for. Jake's fellow classmates are comprised of a dynamic young cast that includes Jordana Brewster as the alluringly tough, female commander who helps to train Jake; Donnie Wahlberg as Lt. Cmdr. Burton, the officer who first decides to take a chance on Jake; and Chi McBride as the boxing coach who takes Jake from amateur swinger to focused warrior.

In anticipation of the film's release this Friday, James Franco has been taking interviews about the film.

Franco Talks Annapolis

The good people over at LatinoReview have recently caught up with James Franco and discusses everything from Annapolis to Franco's own feelings on relationships and what it takes to be a soldier in real life.

Given our present situation in Iraq did you fear that this movie will be used as propaganda to recruit people?

Franco: Hmm - most military movies could be used that way. This movie doesn't really take a political stance and it really just humanizes the guys that go there and all of that. I mean, I have a great respect for individuals that go through there and that was one of the points of the movie rather than a political message.

Though the interview was supposed to be all about Franco's latest films, it is hard not to ask at least a couple questions about Spider-Man 3.

What can you talk about 'Spider-Man 3' and your character?

Franco: I can't say anything.

Are you filming right now?

Franco: This week we start.

Do you have any feelings about going back to that character for a third time?

Franco: It's fine. It has the possibility - you do a character three times and there's the chance that it'll get stale, but they've written a great character for me and he has a great arch and he changes in every film and I have a great time with Sam [Raimi] and Tobey [Maguire].

Check out the entire interview over at LatinoReview.

Annapolis comes to theatres on January 27th.
