Yesterday we had noted that it wasn't looking like Paramount Pictures was going to release the Super Bowl spot for Mission: Impossible III any time soon. However, it now looks like we are going to have to put a foot in our mouths with the recent alert sent over from Paramount.
Super Bowl Spot for M:I:3
The TV spot for Mission: Impossible III looks like a solid mix between the teaser trailer and the yet-to-be-released full trailer. Instead of seeing Ethan Hunt's love interest in the film all happy and in love, the TV spot shows a character that is in distress. There is even one seen where it looks like the character is injured in the hospital.
It was obvious that Paramount Pictures was going to keep the jet flyby scene from the teaser trailer, as it is probably one of the coolest shots I have ever seen for a trailer.
The only thing that surprised me in the TV spot was how much time was used on promoting The Ultimate Mission. I understand that having an online game can create more attention for the film, but giving the game's announcement just about the same running-time as the spot itself is a bit much.
