After having success with Ken Kwapis with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Warner Bros has decided to give the director another round.
Kwapis to Helm License to Wed
According to a THR, Warner Bros Pictures has picked up Ken Kwapis to direct the upcoming film License to Wed.
Kwapis, known for Sisterhood, has more experience behind the camera for television shows. The director's list of projects include episodes on Malcolm in the Middle, The Bernie Mac Show, Grounded for Life, ER, The Larry Sanders Show and, more recently, The Office.
The script for License to Wed was originally written by Kim Barker. However, a delay allowed the re-write of the script by Dan Fogelman. However, the current script is thanks to a final draft penned by Elizabeth Chandler.
The story for License to Wed centers on a priest/marriage counselor testing the strengths of one couple's relationship through a series of increasingly grueling tests during a marriage preparation course from hell.
With the divorce rate as high as it is among young couples, maybe some marriage counselors can take a couple tips from the film.
Personally, I'd have to be dating a girl for about three years before I would have any idea if she is 'the one.' If she is, I'll buy her a 55" DLP Bigscreen... from the heart.
