What am I suppose to put this article under... movies
or games? Anywho, it seems that the rumors are true and there will be a
movie adaptation of the popular video game Splinter Cell.
Splinter Cell Picks up Berg
Paramount acquired the film rights to Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell,
and has recently placed Peter Berg [director] and Michael Ovitz [producer]
in charge. If you remember, Tom Clancy films have been pretty successful
for Paramount in the past and, with the success of the Cell game,
they should have no problem raking in the numbers for this film as well.
Some of the Clancy films include Hunt for Red October [loved it],
Clear and Present Danger [loved it], and Sum of all Fears
[ehh]. However, while the listed films cover the adventures of Jack Ryan,
Splinter Cell does not.
Splinter Cell is about a government agent/spy who goes on adventures to
infiltrate high-tech terrorist organizations. The game revolves around the
concept of stealth, instead of shoot like crazy. If the movie is anything
like the game, expect a high suspense thriller. |
