Alpha Dog
I recently saw the Steven Spielberg film Munich and have to admit that I liked it a lot. However, with a film like Munich you will always leave the theatre with a bitter taste in your mouth no matter how much you liked it.
Well, this isn't my review for Munich, as that is coming tomorrow. But, the upcoming film Alpha Dog starring Justin Timberlake, Bruce Willis, Sharon Stone, Emile Hirsch, Dominique Swain and Ben Foster looks like it is going to leave moviegoers with a similar type of 'satisfaction.'
Alpha Dog looks slick, the young cast is far beyond par and the overall storyline looks well enough to get most the facts right. Alpha Dog is based on actual events, and these events, no matter how much you dig the film, could have you leaving the theatre pissed off.
But isn't that what films are supposed to do? Play with your emotions a bit?
Alpha Dog Trailer
I don't know how we missed this one considering we have been watching developments on Alpha Dog pretty closely, but New Line Cinema has released a finish trailer for the film. I would like to say that this trailer came out 'recently' but the reader who alerted us did not mention a date.
How does the trailer look? Well, it doesn't dive as deep into the actual crime itself like the unfinished version that went up months ago, but it does give viewers a better overall gist to the film.
After watching the trailer for Alpha Dog you can definitely spot more than a few aspects that deserve attention. First, both Bruce Willis and Sharon Stone have roles in the film and it does look like they are giving it their all. Second, Alpha Dog could be a glorious breakout film for Justin Timberlake. Third, Emile Hirsch was introduced to me through Girl Next Door as the geeky senior who never took any risks. Now we encounter Emile Hirsch again in a completely opposite role in Alpha Dog. Though I initially had my doubts when I saw his name on the call sheet, it looks like Hirsch nailed his role with flying colors.
I can compliment the hell out of this film, but I don't want to get too far ahead of myself; at least without an official release date.
