Guillermo Del Toro
Though it was first discussed that Mexican director Guillermo Del Toro was in line to direct the film adaptation of Halo with Peter Jackson to produce, it has become harder and harder to find where the director will have the time.
With a possible sequel to Hellboy on the way and now Killing on Carnival Row, Halo may soon be out of the picture.
Del Toro on Carnival Row
According to a Variety, Guillermo Del Toro is currently in negotiations with New Line Cinema to direct the futuristic fantasy-thriller Killing on Carnival Row.
Arnold and Anne Kopelson have already stepped in to produce the film through their Kopelson Entertainment banner.
The screenplay for Killing on Carnival Row was penned by rookie scribe Travis Beacham and was picked up last fall by New Line in a preemptive bid.
Though some upcoming films are attempting to do a more realistic fantasy-- whatever that means -- Killing on Carnival Row will push multiple fantasy elements into its universe.
The story of Killing on Carnival Row is set in a Victorian city inhabited by humans, faeries, elves and vampires, with a detective pursuing a serial killer.
Guillermo Del Toro latest fantasy film, Pan's Labyrinth, will be coming to theatres this October.
