While it hasn't been confirmed, I'm rooting for Ryan Reynolds to be the Flash.
For those of you who remember my review of Blade:
Trinity, I mentioned that I didn't think David Goyer should
have directed. The guy is good at writing action packed comic screenplays,
he is only par at directing them. Well, I hope that I am wrong, and Blade:
Trinity was just a warm up round for Goyer [ok, he wasn't too bad].
I hope this because Goyer has now taken on what seems to be his largest
project yet. Goyer will write, produce, and direct The Flash, a film based
on the DC comic series.
Who will be the Flash?
According to Variety, soon after Warner
Bros. picked up rights for a Flash movie, they immediately took
David Goyer under their wing. For those of you who don't know the history
of the Flash, here is a brief history:
Jason Peter "Jay" Garrick was a gifted chemistry student and aspiring
athlete. However, through over exposure to fumes from 'heavy water' during
a chemistry experiments, Jason was given the ability to run incredibly fast.
It seems that Goyer has been waiting for this opportunity to come along
and according to Variety, states:
Flash is my favorite of the properties...
I think the character of the Flash, who moves faster than the speed
of light, opens itself up to rich cinematic and story ideas.
Well, hopefully his love for this film will push him to outdue his last
attempt at directing. But who will be the flash? While that has yet to be
decided, there is a rumor circulating that it could be the amazing Ryan
Reynolds. On whether he'd be a perfect fit, I couldn't agree more.
Stay tuned for updates. |
