We have recently been alerted to another casting announcement for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. With most of the new major roles now filled Warner Bros still has now gotten to work on filling the minor roles.
Oh yes, the Dursley's are back.
Order of the Phoenix Gets Dursley's and More
There were mixed feelings when Mike Newell decided to entirely skip the Dursley house at the beginning of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Instead of having Harry wake up at his Aunt and Uncle's place after his 'dream' of Voldemort we see Harry wake up among the Weasley family. With a book that was significantly longer than the ones before it, the Dursley's unfortunately found the ax.
However, for Order of the Phoenix the Dursley house located on Privet Drive is bigger than ever. Remember, it is the event that takes place on Privet Drive that kicks the story off.
Therefore, we were not entirely surprised by CBBC's announcement that the Dursley's will be back for Order of the Phoenix; especially since Kathryn Hunter had already been picked up to play Mrs. Figg.
Along with the Dursley family other, new, characters have been cast as well.br>
Sian Thomas- Will play Amelia Bones, the Head of the Magical Law Enforcement Office.
Jason Boyd- Will play Piers Polkiss, a member of Dudley's gang.
Richard Macklin- Will play Malcolm, another member of Dudley's gang.
Charles Hughes- Will play a young Wormtail that Peter sees in Snape's pensieve.
Susie Shinner- Will play young Lily, Harry's mother who Harry also sees in Snape's pensieve.
Richard Leaf- Will play Dawlish, the Ministry Auror.
Nick Shim- Will play Zacharias Smith, another student at Hogwarts.
