It looks like Eddie Murphy is looking for a sci-fi comedy that can make up for Pluto Nash. In a film coming our way from 20th Century Fox, Murphy jumps aboard Starship Dave.

According to Variety, Eddie Murphy has been picked up for the upcoming film Starship Dave. The film has been picked up by 20th Century Fox after various delays over at Paramount.
The director of The Longest Yard and Anger Management, Peter Sagal, will get behind the camera for the film.
Producing are David Friendly and Marc Turtletaub for Deep River, Jon Berg and Tom Komarnicki for Guy Walks Into a Bar. Segal's producing partner Michael Ewing will also produce.
The story for the film is limited and does not mention whether Murphy will play an alien or human. Starship Dave is about a crew of miniature human-looking aliens who are seeking a way to save their doomed world.
Eddie Murphy is currently working on Dreamgirls and Shrek 3. The actor is also set to have a role in the upcoming film Norbit.
