Now that Serenity has broke out onto DVD and is long behind Joss Whedon-- though a sequel is still possible --the director is ready to talk about the current developments for the upcoming superhero flick Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman Script Talk

The good people over at IESB have recently caught up with Joss Whedon and got him to discuss Serenity, the X-Men series, and, more importantly, Wonder Woman.

According to Whedon, the script for the film is almost done and, if it passes inspection, they can begin casting the part.

IESB: Wonder Woman, you're working on it…

JW: Yes.

IESB: How soon do we get some announcements? Is Joel [Silver] pushing you? When do we find out who is going to be Wonder Woman?

JW: We find out who is going to be Wonder Woman when they cast it…I am finishing the script now, I am a few weeks away from a draft, they'll take a look at that and they'll either say this is absolutely perfect for Paul Sorvino or they'll say this sucks and hire somebody else, it's impossible to say but I think in a few weeks time they should get a sense of what I am doing in the movie and then we can start talking about casting.

We had pointed out that Kate Beckinsale made a fine Wonder Woman when she wore the outfit for Halloween. However, it still remains unknown if that move was to get some attention for the actress or if she was just wearing the Halloween costume as, well, a Halloween costume.

However, I think she may be a bit too slim to play the character; the black leather fits her better anyway.

Check out the entire report from Whedon on Wonder Woman over at IESB.

Stay tuned for updates.
