The original 'short list' of possible Bond girls for the upcoming film Casino Royale included Thandie Newton (so hot in M:I:2), Vera Farmiga (her eyes are incredible), Rose Byrne (my personal favorite, falls to Achilles 'weapon' in Troy), and Natasha Henstridge (has no problem doing an entire film naked).
Only a week ago did we add Rachel McAdams to the list and MovieFone was already giving the actress high adds (2 to 1) of becoming the next Bond girl.
However, with a press conference scheduled today, it looks like the list may have been shortened down to two names-- Eva Green and Olivia Wilde.
The Next Bond Girl Coming Soon?
According to Variety, Sony Pictures has scheduled an 007 press conference for today at Prague's Barrandov Studios, where the Martin Campbell-directed film is currently shooting.
Though Sony claims that no casting announcement will be made during the conference it is always possible that they could mention the final candidate(s) for Bond girl and the actor to play the villain in the film.
The villain role is expected to go to Danish thesp Mads Mikkelsen while the role of Bond girl has been slimmed down to Eva Green and Olivia Wilde.
Eva Green has recently been seen in Kingdom of Heaven and had a steamy little sex scene in the film The Dreamers.
Olive Wilde plays the hottie lesbian in the hit television series The OC and can be seen in the upcoming film Alpha Dog.
Even if the roles are not cast or announced today, it is expected that we should have a casting update shortly; with filming underway time is running out.
Since Sony, who inherited the Bond franchise from MGM, still plans to release the film in November of this year, had to begin shooting Casino Royale in January regardless of casting.
Casino Royale has been given a budget north of $100 million.
Casino Royale will come to theatres November 17th.
