Though we don't want to count the chickens yet, but it looks like Sony is finailly beginning to place some real marketing power behind the upcoming Kurt Wimmer film Ultraviolet. Sure, they haven't begun to release TV spots or added clips just yet, but at least Sony is beginning to do something.
Earlier this week Sony updated the Ultraviolet site by filling it with tons of goodies. The site offered features such as an image gallery, trailer and even a graphic novel to read online. However, it did not offer any new trailers or movie clips.
Fortunately, only a few days later Sony
released the first movie clip for the film.
Now MovieFone is rocking a behind-the-scenes picture slideshow for Ultraviolet that gives moviegoers an even closer look at the film and its characters.

MovieFone and Sony have recently released an eight-page picture book that shows off some fimiliar movie stills from Ultraviolet plus a detailed description of what is occuring in the film.
During a dangerous mission to steal a mysterious weapon that can wipe out her race, Violet rescues a human child named Six (Cameron Bright). Hundreds of kids auditioned for the part, but the connection between Jovovich and 10-year-old Bright was immediate. "I tried to make it as fun for him as possible," says Jovovich, who is a former child actor herself. (description of image to the right)
All of the movie stills that are previewed in the slideshow have been seen before, making the latest descriptions the most valuable aspect to the update.
After reading the descriptions for the film I was surprised to see the similarities between Ultraviolet and Jovovich's previous film The Fifth Element. Both films feature a kick-ass chick with super-human abilities that wears futuristic outfits. I wonder if Violet ever turns her hair orange in the film, because that would be a sweet homage to Element.
