Add one more comicbook to the growing list of comicbooks picked up by the studios for adaptation to film. Rogue Pictures has recently moved forward and picked up the comic book thriller Hack/Slash.
Hack/Slash Movie
According to Variety, Rogue Pictures, the genre arm of Universal-based Focus Features, has acquired feature rights to the comicbook series Hack/Slash.
The studio has already established a director in Todd Lincoln with Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter set to produce. Hack/Slash will be Lincoln's directorial debut with a feature length film. The director has past experience with film shorts, music videos and commercials.
The story of Hack/Slash centers on Cassie Hack, the lone survivor of an attack by a vicious slasher called The Lunch Lady. In retaliation, Cassie decides to travel to the country with her lurking partner, Vlad, to hunt down other slashers; some of which that have supernatural powers.
Hack/Slash
Hack/Slash should make a perfect adaptation with its interesting mix of violence, gore, fantasy and partial nudity. The main female character, Cassie, has the ability to lure trouble to her with her, uhh, exposed curves.
Todd Lincoln will adapt the screenplay with Martin Schenk. Hack/Slash was created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli.
