X-Men 3
If there is one thing to say about X-Men 3: The Last Stand it is the marvelous recovery of the film's production. After losing Bryan Singer negative buzz began to circulate the internet like flies on... old pizza. Things were looking bleak and we found it hard not to be at least somewhat disappointed in where the franchise was heading.
Fortunately, with Brett Ratner at the helm, the production of X3 has done a complete one-eighty and the early buzz has switched from negativity and doubt to extremely positive.
Not that we want to necessarily add fuel to the fire, but the good people over at IESB have recently posted a ginormous set report for X-Men 3 that claims the production is all that and a bag of chips.
X-Men 3 Set Visit
IESB was finally able to give their full report on their set visit to the production of X-Men 3. The report is very optimistic with details and long assessments.
What else you got to do?
Now that I am able to release the details of my visit to the set of X-Men: The Last Stand late last year in Vancouver I can tell you that the work being done is nothing short of “Astonishing.”
I will be breaking this report up into 3 parts. This first part will include the Q&A held with Brett Ratner, Sir Ian McKellan, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry on the set on a freezing cold snowy Vancouver evening where we talked about X-Men thus far.
Part two we visit Kelsey Grammar in the make-up trailer while he goes through the tedious process of Beast transformation. He talks to us about how he approached this part and how he feels about playing the most endearing mutant ever created.
In the last part, I will tell you about the scene we saw being shot with Magneto and Wolverine and also our conversation with visual effects supervisor John Bruno who gives us an interesting insight into how certain scenes were shot and other cool tidbits.
Talk about a really cool evening. Imagine Ratner, McKellan, Jackman and Berry sitting down on the set to tell us all about their experiences and thoughts on The Last Stand. Even though our brains were frozen, we still got a few good questions in for these guys. Read on!
With the competition between tentpole films at a new high for the summer opening, X-Men 3 better have what it takes to hold the box office receipts.
Check out the entire set report on X-Men 3 over at IESB.
X-Men 3 comes to theatres on May 26th.
