Warner Bros Pictures has recently seeked out a prison setting when the studio purchased the pitch Kite for from scribes Michael Lander and Ryan Roy for Leonardo DiCaprio's shingleshingle Appian Way to produce.

According to Variety, Warner Bros put in an early bid on the pitch Kite.
The selected producers for Kite are Appian Way's Brad Simpson and DiCaprio. Franklin Leonard, a creative exec at Appian, brought in the project.
The story for Kite, set in the California prison system, revolves around a prison guard who is caught up in a web of corruption and violence.
Kite marks the first studio deal for Lander and Roy, who caught the attention of execs around town with their script Peacock.
