Secrets and Fun in Disney's Aladdin

Merry Christmas [Christmaka] everybody! For the
first article on this joyous occasion, here is a couple fan facts to look
for in Disney's Aladdin. I know, how can I spoil a wonderful kids
movie? Well here is a couple things the adults might find fun, interesting,
and down right entertaining.
A Couple Hidden Secrets to Find in Disney's Aladdin
Here are some small things that many will enjoy looking for in one of their
favorite animated films:
While Aladdin and Jasmine are up on the balcony [just before 'Whole
New World'] you can hear a cough that the mic picked up in the background
When Robin Williams [as Genie] first appears out of the lamp there is
a huge puff of smoke, the shape of Mickey Mouse appears in this smoke
briefly
During the carpet ride between Aladdin and Jasmine, there is a moment
when Jasmine slips her hand underneath Aladdin's shirt.
During the balcony scene, Aladdin is confronted with Jasmine's tiger.
At this point he tries to 'shoo' the tiger away, but, if you listen closely,
it sounds like he says "Good teenagers, take off your clothes."
- This myth has been highly debated and Disney claims that Aladdin says
"C'mon . . . good kitty. Take off and go." The actual Aladdin
caption shows Aladdin saying "Good kitty, take off." Now,
if you listen closely to the words, it does not sound like Aladdin is
saying either of these two lines. It sounds exactly like "Good
teenagers, take off your clothes." What seams to be the answer
is improper sound editing that picked up a different track and layed
it across what Aladdin was supposed to say. Nobody knows [allegedly]
who the voice is that is whispering on top of Aladdin's, but still a
damn interesting scene.
After Jafar's defeat by Aladdin and Genie, he is forced to return to
normal size. During this morph, the people at Disney slipped in a few
frames of Mickey's shape.
During the beginning of the carpet ride with Jasmine and Aladdin you
are shown a view of the palace getting smaller in the distance.
If you look below the balcony you can see a full profile shadow of Mickey
Mouse.

Characters Shout Shit in Aladdin
There are two reported incidents where a character plainly shouts shit in Aladdin. It is actually pretty obvious and I was
surprised that I missed both the incidences once I tried to listen for them. You don't have to listen close either.
The first incident occurs when Aladdin is singing the song "One Jump." Aladdin
is bouncing around the busy town and slides down a clothesline towards a
woman's window. Just as he arrives at the window, the woman slams the shutters
and yells "Shit!". You may not notice it at first and will have to listen
for it. However, for the second incident, you will be able to hear it easily;
and it is the monkey Abu who says it!
During the cave scene when Aladdin first tries to retrieve the 'treasure,'
aka lamp, Abu grabs some other treasure and causes lava to come flowing
into the caves. This leads into a large action scene as Abu and Aladdin
both try to get out of the caves. During this scene we come across Abu who
is stuck on a small rock, surrounded by lava. Abu looks both ways and notices
the other rocks are exploding. As the camera draws away from Abu to watch
the last rock explode you can hear Abu clearly shout "Oh Shit!".
It is hilarious, just keep your volume at the standard and sit back and
listen. Too funny to hear that monkey shout profanities.
Well, that's it. Now go get your Aladdin film out of the closet and look for these secrets. |
