Keeping with the new fantasy craze that could consume Hollywood over the next few years, New Line Cinema has just purchased the pitch to Pan.
New Line has Pan
According to Variety, New Line has acquired the horror pitch Pan from rookie writer Ben Magid.
The story, which does an interesting take on Peter Pan,
tells of a villain named Pan who is being tracked by a police captain named Hook. Since the story will draw in some of the concepts from the kiddie fairy tale, Pan will be a fantasy film that features supernatural elements.
New Line plans to set up Pan under Brooklyn Weaver's Energy Entertainment banner.
Weaver currently has a full plate of projects that include The Number 23 with Jim Carrey, Planet Terry at New Line, Prom at Lionsgate, Spin at Spyglass, Bachelorette at Universal, Turn at Radar and Wimpy at Warner Bros.
