Jon Stewart hosting the 78th Annual Academy Awards
Those who have come to know Jon Stewart through has antics during 'Indecision 2004' and the hit news show on Comedy Central, The Daily Show, were probably in stitches during the opening monologue for the 78th Annual Academy Awards.
Mixing both movie and political jokes, Jon Stewart was able to get the crowd laughing most of the time. Though some viewers that Stewart had bombed his stand-up routine due to looking 'uncomfortable', they just don't know how the man works; he purposely looks uncomfortable after a few jokes.
Oscar Opening Clips
To give Jon Stewart another chance, both the opening sequence, 'Find a Host,' which takes a hilarious look at the Academy's mission to find a host each year, and Stewart's opening monologue for the award show has appeared online.
After watching Jon Stewart in action I'd have to say he did pretty damn well; it is just too bad that he had a limited collection of films to go after.
I also have to give the guy some props for keeping his middle-of-the-line attitude while cracking jokes at the liberal party amongst tons of Hollywood faces; talk about dangerous!
