Any time somebody hears the term "Minutemen"
they think of the gang of people patrolling the US-Mexican border.
However, in the case of Sony, the Minutemen may ultimately be our
last line of defense.
Sony Recruits Minutemen
According to Variety,
Sony has bought the pitch Minutemen by scribes Brandon Camp and
Mike Thompson. The pitch was bought for the high six-figures.
Minutemen tells the story of an axis of enemies that attack America for
its perceived imperialism, forcing the inhabitants of an unassuming quarry
town to thwart the invading armies' plan to destroy the nation's command
center.
Are we talking about the 'Axis of Evil' or something else?
Minutemen will be an action pic that sets a low-tech force against
the high-tech invaders.
"It's really a story of heroism," Thompson told Daily Variety. "In these tenuous times of international strife, we were motivated to tell an old-fashioned Everyman's tale of American ingenuity and heroism."
Camp added: "It's an underdog tale about people that society expects very little from and how they rise to ultimately live up to their potential."
