I have had a thing against ants ever since my college days up at UC Santa Barbara. The ants up there are insane. Not only can they survive a cycle in the dishwasher and a couple minutes in the microwave (no joke!), they also have a surprising smell when you smash them. Who is sick enough to smash an ant and smell their finger? Well, you obviously have never smashed a Santa Barbara ant; the damn things smell exactly like the product made to kill them-- Raid. I discovered this the hard way when I bit into a chocolate donut that was full of the little bastards. From that point on it was war.
In essence, I became The Ant Bully. If ants are given a chance they will strike out for your foods storage and create one giant hassle. In the case of the ants in the upcoming Warner Bros animation, the little insects can talk, conspire, and even create special potions that turn pesky children into ant-size versions of themselves.
Ant Bully Clip and Poster
We were recently alerted about a new clip for the upcoming film The Ant Bully. It is hard to say whether the clip is promotional or from the actual film. But, if it is from the actual film, this would be the first 'finished' clip for the movie.
The new clip is very humorous as we encounter an eccentric soldier ant as he gets unknowingly tortured by a magnifying glass. Everything looked great in the clip except for one thing-- the fire. When the object ignited the flame didn't look all that realistic. Sure, I may just be being picky, but we can only expect the next generation of CG animated films to be top notch.

The Ant Bully Poster
In The Ant Bully a boy is shrunk to ant-size after soaking an ant colony with his squirt gun. Tried and sentenced to hard labor in the colony, the boy learns the value of teamwork, fights off a wasp attack and tries to return to normal size.
