Hugh Jackman is Wolverine
It seems like only yesterday when I first encountered Hugh Jackman as the character Wolverine in X-Men. The production that brought together multiple star names just waiting to be re-ignited, turned out to be the boost in Jackman's career.
After being the mutant with the most Jackman appeared in an array of films including Swordfish, Kate & Leopold, Van Helsing, Someone Like You, and Standing Room Only. Sure, Jackman's filmography may not be ginormous, but make no mistake that the actor isn't working on that. Jackman is expected to play a role in at least five films for 2006 and has already begun to work on his slate for 2007.
This year Jackman will most likely get the most hype for his return to Wolverine in X-Men 3: The Last Stand. However, now with an award under his belt, the actor may have earned a bit more attention to his other films as well.
Jackman is ShoWest Male Star of the Year
According to THR, Hugh Jackman has been tapped as ShoWest Male Star of the Year. Jackman will receive the honor Thursday night at the closing ceremony of the annual exhibitors' convention.
"Hugh Jackman's impressive accomplishments as an actor, ranging from the gentle leading man to action superhero, has made him one of Hollywood's most sought-after talents," said Mitch Neuhauser, co-managing director of the event.
What films can you expect to see Hugh Jackman in besides X-Men 3? Among the list you will find Scoop, Happy Feet, The Fountain, The Prestige, Flushed Away, Good and Wolverine-- a spin-off of the X-Men franchise.
