M. Night Shyamalan on set of Signs.
The master of onscreen twists, M. Night Shyamalan, made his biggest impression back with a little film titled The Sixth Sense. Following that up with Unbreakable, the second Shyamalan film to star Bruce Willis, most had pegged the up and coming director as the next big thing. Unfortunately, the craze around Shyamalan quickly began to slip with Signs and The Village.
Though Shyamalan's reliability may have dropped down a notch, moviegoers are still anxiously awaiting his next big surprise. Will the character be dead? Will coincidence lead to miracle?
With the release of Lady in the Water in July, Shyamalan will have yet another shot to prove that he is the director that everybody hopes him to be. If not, he does have some ideas for his next film.
Shyamalan Speaks
The good people over at IESB have recently caught up with M. Night Shyamalan and were able to get the director to discuss his upcoming film Lady in the Water plus what he plans to do next.
Looking for a possible hint in the tagline "A Bedtime Story," M. Night Shyamalan explains that the tag should not suggest anything about the film but that there is a likelihood that Lady will not be as dark as his previous films. Yeah right, you are M. Night Shyamalan!
Shyamalan goes on to discuss his work, or lack thereof, on Indiana Jones 4 plus some other minor details on Lady in the Water.
