Here is a brief update for all of you fans looking for filming details on Spider-Man 3. According to a local cable report, Columbia Pictures figured Cleveland looked a lot like New York.
Spider-Man 3 Films in Cleveland
In a video news report over at WKYC, the studio announced that a 2nd unit crew will head on over to Cleveland and shoot various scenes that do not require the appearance of Tobey Maguire and other cast.
Looking for a new location that looked similar to New York City, Columbia Pictures had Cleveland and Detroit at the top of its list. By the time all was said and done Columbia Pictures found Cleveland's skylines to be the better option.
As an added bonus, Cleveland is going to allow their convention center to become a sound stage for filming; something that has been discussed for previous films.
With the arrival of the hundred-or-so crew members to Cleveland the local citizens will be given a chance to see action scenes being filmed and the opportunity to be an extra in the film.
According to the report, Columbia Pictures plans to hire some seventy-five locals during its stay in Cleveland.
Now that we know where they are going to be, hopefully somebody will be ready to film some footage from the set.
