It is no secret that I am a huge fan of movie soundtracks. A film's original score has the ability to make or break any movie. Therefore when you have a high-budget tentpole flick coming out you will want to spend the extra dough on a solid composer. In the case of Warner Bros' Superman Returns, we have not one but two soundtracks coming our way.
Superman Returns Soundtrack
According to MTV, Warner Bros has greenlit two separate soundtracks for Superman Returns. One soundtrack will feature the original score by composer John Ottman and the other will feature a compilation of favorite bands.
Superman as an emo-punk hero? Well, he's already got the black hair and the chunky belt (though it's not studded and he might want to change it from yellow to white), and his Spandex pants could pass for girl jeans, but the whole concept is a bit of a stretch.
That hasn't stopped Warner Bros. — which will unleash "Superman Returns" June 30 — from greenlighting two separate records based on the Man of Steel: an official movie score by composer John Ottman and Sound of Superman, an album featuring contributions from a host of Warped Tour faves.
A Warped Tour album targeted for Superman Returns? We can dig it... as long as they keep with the original score as well.
Superman Returns will fly into theatres on June 30, 2006.
