Shia LaBeouf
A while back it was rumored that 19 year-old actor Shia LaBeouf (Charlies Angels: Full Throttle, Constantine, I, Robot) was approached to star in the upcoming adaptation Transformers. It was suggested that LaBeouf was in the running to play the young protagonist named Sam.
Considering that we had figured it was time for the young actor's career to blow up, the rumor seemed more than legit.
As it turns out, the rumor was true and LaBeouf is currently in negotiations to star in Transformers.
Shia LaBeouf Possible for Transformers
According to FilmForce, Shia LaBeouf is indeed in negotiations to star in the adaptation to be directed by Michael Bay and produced by Steven Spielberg; making Transformers his biggest film to date.
A casting breakdown has been circulating online and breaks down the human characters as follows:
Sam - teenage male, somewhat nerdy, but ultimately heroic.
Miguela Barns - teenage female, Sam's love interest.
Cpt William Lennicks - 30s male, leader of the military.
Maggie - female, really hot, really smart, works as a codebreaker for the government.
John Kellar - 50's/60's male, US Secretary of State.
Glen Whitman - 20's male, technogeek, comic relief.
Transformers will come to theatres on July 4th, 2007.
