As each and every one of my friends knows, I have always had a thing for Asian ladies. Therefore, imagine how my interest peaked when I hear about a film titled Beautiful Asian Brides with the Asian hottie Lucy Liu set to star. The project has been sitting on its hands for some time, but it now looks like Universal is ready to stick to this film like white on rice.
New Writers for Beautiful Asian Brides
According to Variety, Universal Pictures has put some pressure behind Beautiful Asian Brides-- a starring vehicle for Lucy Liu --by hiring writers Steven Gary Banks and Claudia Grazioso.
Based on an original idea by Les Firestein and P.J. Pesce, Beautiful Asian Brides was originally set up at Jersey Films but languished when that shingle broke up.
Comedy concerns a man wrongly accused of murder who goes undercover as a mail-order bride in an attempt to prove his innocence.
Since the film does have Brides in the title, with an 's', should we expect tons of Asian eye candy? I can only hope!
Beautiful Asian Brides will be produced by Brian Grazer under his and Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment banner along with Lucy Liu herself.
Lucy Liu can be seen in the upcoming film Lucky Number Slevin and is working on a number of films including Kung Fu Panda, The Cleaner and Devil to Pay.
