The Hookup Handbook
When I first heard of the book The Hookup Handbook:
A Single Girl's Guide to Living It Up I began to panic. Guys have been
hearing so much shit from their girlfriends thanks to a little thing called
He's Just Not That Into You that we begin to worry about any new
novel that girls of all ages love to read.
Fortunately this book seems to swing the other way and tells girls what
guys have been telling them for centuries-- get out and have fun!
The book has had so much pull that Dimension figured an adaptation was in
order.
Dimension Reads The Hookup Handbook
According to Variety,
Dimension Films is developing a comedy based on Andrea Lavinthal and Jessica
Rozler's novel The Hookup Handbook: A Single Girl's Guide to Living
It Up.
Scribe trio Alyssa Embree, Jessica Koosed and Stacey Harman have been tapped
to adapt the book, published last year by Simon Spotlight.
The film will evolve around three very different young women who leave traditional
dating behind to forge some unlikely friendships, and a series of life-changing
romantic adventures, all in pursuit of "hooking up."
"This book cuts like a laser right to the heart of what's going on
with today's young people and the way they relate to each other on an emotional
level," said Peter Riche.
Stay tuned for updates.
