Jamie Bell in King Kong
Though there are those that don't have the warmest feelings towards Jamie Bell considering that it was his character who 'wasted' extra minutes in Peter Jackson's King Kong, the actor might soon become a household name with a new trilogy beginning with Jumper.
Sturridge, Palmer and Bell for Jumper
According to Variety, Thomas Sturridge, Teresa Palmer and Jamie Bell have been picked up by New Regency to star in the upcoming sci-fi adventure pic Jumper.
Jumper is based on the 1992 novel by Steven Gould of the same name. The adaptation was originally written by David Goyer but is currently being polished over by Jim Uhls.
The story follows a 17-year-old boy (Sturridge) who discovers he has the ability to teleport. He first uses his special power to escape his abusive father, and then puts his ability to use robbing banks before becoming entangled with terrorists and law enforcement.
Wasn't this the same thing Senator Kelly worried about in the original X-Men?
Regency is using the same creative team behind Mr and Mrs Smith-- Doug Liman to direct with Lucas Foster and Simon Kinberg to produce. New Regency will finance the entire film with production set to get underway this spring.
You can also see Thomas Sturridge in Vanity Fair, Teresa Palmer in the upcoming film The Grudge 2 and Jamie Bell has made appearances in both King Kong and Billy Elliot.
