Scary Movie 4 Regina Hall and Anna Faris in Scary Movie 4
With Scary Movie 4 receiving early positives from online fan sites and even Entertainment Weekly, I have to admit that I am slightly anxious to catch this film in theatres. According to the initial reports, Scary Movie 4 is the best in the franchise and fits in one parody after another.

However, who would know better than Scary Movie actress Regina Hall?

Having starred in all four films in the Scary Movie franchise, Regina Hall is considered the parody pro on set. The good people over at Blackfilm were able to catch up with Hall and get her to divulge details from the production, what makes the fourth film different, and how the cast has picked up their game since the last go.

How does it feel to come back and play Brenda for the 4th time?

RH: Itís good. Itís fun. The great thing about this movie is that it is what it is. Itís light. I loved working with Anna (Faris) and I get to work with a crew who I know. Itís great and I get to work with David Zucker again.

Do you think people still get a kick out of the spoof films, especially when youíre now into the 4th one of this franchise?

RH: I do. The biggest thing is that we always want to keep it fresh and entertaining so that when people watch it, they still get a laugh. I think they do a good job of spacing and reinventing them so that itís not like, ďOh, here we go againĒ and there is something that is fresh about it. Thatís whatís great about adding cast members to the film.

Does coming back into this role help your career since this is basically yours and Annaís film as opposed to playing another supporting role in a big ensemble film?

RH: Yes, itís great. As a black woman, it is so wonderful to be a part of this. There are so few of us that are a part of franchises. To be a part of a franchise that millions of people see and has a built-in audience, but that you were a part of from the beginning. Itís great because itís not that common.

Scary Movie 4 comes to theatres on April 14th, 2006.
