Spider-Man 3 Promotional Image
Those of you who have been keeping up with the updates for Spider-Man 3 here at CanMag.Com most likely know our position on choice of villain. Ever since the beginning we have been cheering for the possibility of having Venom make an appearance and it now seems like the character is for certain.
Kirsten Dunst first dropped the Venom bomb, and then nobody wanted to talk about that little guy. Then a special effects crew mentions they are working on the symbiote (which later creates Venom), and nobody wanted to talk about that little guy. All the little hints finally built up to the release of the promotional image to the right. Spider-Man wearing black? Does he do this at the beginning or end of the movie? Is Venom come into play or what?
Though Columbia Pictures and Sam Raimi haven't officially announced that Venom is the other villain (most likely just because they are having fun with us), it is hard to deny the bin of information.
So how about a little more?
Church Says Venom for Spider-Man 3
That's right! Thomas Haden Church has found it nearly impossible to avoid the press of late thanks to his involvement in a little CG animated film titled Over the Hedge. Doing what any news agency would do, the press has been drilling Church left and right with questions about the ever-so-secret Spider-Man 3.
In the comeback actor's latest go with MSN, Church goes balls out with Venom.
"Sam and I started having really involved sessions about who the guy was," Church says. "Clearly, it's taken from the fourth issue of 'Spider-Man,' which was when Sandman was introduced and which I now have framed on my wall."
Church is still sworn to secrecy regarding plot details (he might want to consider moonlighting as a CIA agent), but he wants to let fans know they won't be disappointed.
"I'm overwhelmed every time I'm around Sam," Church says. "He's been showing me [stuff] since the beginning of last summer. 'This is what we are going to be doing in this sequence, this is what Spider-Man is going to be doing and this is what Venom is going to be doing.' It is a massive, massive process."
Let me hear you now: "Venom, Venom, Venom..." Ok, so I always get a little excited when the V-bomb is dropped; but we are talking about a symbiote wearing character to the likes of Spider-Man!
