Fred Durst
I have always hated out when a famous person drops out of one entertainment profession to join another. Remember when Ashlee Simpson decided she wanted to be a singer? How did that turn out? Ok, ok, some actors can make it as singers and some singers can make it as actors.
But what about a singer by the name of Fred Durst sitting in a director's chair? Now that is something.
Fred Durst to Direct Charlie Banks
According to Variety, Limp Bizkit lead singer Fred Durst will make his feature directorial debut on indie pic The Education of Charlie Banks.
The shooting is expected to begin June 12th with a cast that includes Jesse Eisenberg (The Squid and the Whale), Jason Ritter and Chris Marquette.
Due to the quickly approaching production date, Durst has been in a panic trying to find what director's hat looks better -- red or black.
The Education of Charlie Banks centers on a Vassar College student who gets an unannounced visit from the scariest kid from his old New York neighborhood.
Iridium Entertainment has given the film a budget of $10 million dollars thanks to money the picture house raised through private finance.
Though Charlie Banks is Fred Durst's feature directorial debut, the singer has had some experience behind a camera. Limp Bizkit has a plethora of music videos, many of which Durst directed.
