Sony Pictures has recently served up the first screening for their upcoming family horror Monster House and the response wasn't only encouraging, but frightening in the best possible sense.
Monster House Screened
From producers Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg, the animated film Monster House tells of a house that is more than what it seems. Since no adults believe the children who live across the street, they must find a way to prove to the neighborhood that the house is possessed.
The good people over at AICN have recently received the first review for Monster House and it is very positive.
Monster House
Last night my Sister and I attended what we were told was the first ever test screening of the new Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg produced, computer animated film MONSTER HOUSE and I must say I was quite impressed. It's been a long time since I've seen a truly good family horror film but this flick definitely fits the bill.
While I was impressed in part with the technology behind THE POLAR EXPRESS I don't mind admitting I felt it still had it's issues the biggest of which being that it was REAL thin on plot. Not only is MONSTER HOUSE leaps and bounds ahead in story and plot but the animation is also way above what they accomplished in THE POLAR EXPRESS.
The report goes on to compare the film to the short animation Sleepy Hollow; something that frightened me when I was young.
