With A Good Year in post-production and Russell Crowe retired of throwing phones, the actor has chosen his next starring vehicle.
Russell Crowe to Star in Tenderness
According to Variety, Russell Crowe has signed to star in helmer John Polson's indie thriller Tenderness.
With two other projects set to go, Crowe was able to squeeze Tenderness into the front of the line. The actor will begin filming Tenderness in May before heading into production on Universal's American Gangster in July, and then Baz Luhrmann's untitled period epic, opposite Nicole Kidman, early next year.
The story follows a violent teenager, Eric, whose life intertwines with Lori, a 16-year-old runaway who can't resist his charm. Crowe will play Lieutenant Cristofuoro, a cop who sets out to unravel Eric's complex past.
Tenderness was adapted by scribe Emil Stern from the Robert Cormier novel.
GreeneStreet will produce Tenderness. The picture house is known for films such as Swimfan and upcoming films such as Awake.
As long as Crowe can control his temper he is likely to get through the production of all three of his upcoming projects without a hitch.
