Brendan Fraser had a rocky start with me when it came to his roles. After getting a few chuckles out of audiences with Encino Man, Fraser remained low on the radar. However, with a quick few releases that included The Mummy franchise and the surprisingly funny Bedazzled, Fraser became a household name in rapid-fire fashion.
Fraser has continued to show off his talents as Rick in the Oscar-winning film Crash.
With a name that now carries a status, Brendan Fraser has already lined up four new films for 2006 and recently added a fifth.
Brendan Fraser to Journey
According to Variety, Brendan Fraser has been picked up to star in Journey 3-D. Walden Media and New Line Cinema have teamed in order to create the re-telling of Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth.
The film will be the feature directorial debut for Eric Brevig, the visual effects supervisor for Total Recall that later won an Academy Award.
Fraser will portray a geologist who, with his teenage son, discovers a message hidden in an ancient artifact, leading them into a previously unseen world.
Journey 3-D is a live-action film that will be shot with high definition, photo-real 3-D technology. The film will feature otherworldly landscapes and creatures.
Brendan Fraser will also work as executive producer on Journey 3-D as well.
